Scholarship program for International Students

The city of Hakodate offers a scholarship program to international students in need of financial assistance. A maximum of \100,000 per year is available to students who meet all the following requirements.

1. International students whose visa status is limited to attending educational institutions

2. International students who have been enrolled in educational institutions located in Hakodate such as High School, Technical College, Junior College, College or University (BA, Master’s or Doctor ‘s courses) as students, researchers or auditors

3. International students who reside in Hakodate and its vicinities including Hokuto and Nanae

4.  International students who are not recipients of a scholarship from the Japanese Government

Please note that this scholarship is provided only for the students who are studying in Hakodate. .

The term of the scholarship is one year from April to March, Japanese academic year, and is renewable with reapplication at the end of the term.

Application can be made at the educational institution that the applicant attends.
